Last night, part 1 of our dinner adventure with close friends:
We arrived at Vecchia Osteria and had a 7:30 reservation and found that when we spoke to the hostess that they wrote it down as 7, not 7:30 because they don’t take 7:30 reservations. After some discussion, we determined that, in fact they made an exception for us, but gave the table away anyway as Pasquale, the owner is just doing whatever he wants.
Apparently, like in one of my favorite Seinfeld episodes, they can take a reservation, they just can’t hold a reservation. See excerpt here:
